Purpose of the role
As the Logistics Team Leader, you will work closely with the Logistics Manager to oversee and enhance day-to-day operations within our logistics department. Your role will involve leading and guiding the Logistics team to maximise service and efficiency levels, handling billing, goods inward, decommissions, warranties, asset management, and reporting. You will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient logistics processes and contributing to the continuous improvement of our operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the daily operational tasks for Logistics Programmers and Administrators. Provide coaching, training and support to ensure team members achieve their KPIs and expectations.
- Process purchase orders for stock replenishment, manage the delivery of goods and supplier invoices and maintain inventory levels to prevent alarm shortages.
- Handle billing and despatch queries, administer alarm cancellation and return processes and support the Customer Service team with daily incidents.
- Analyse, track and report despatch volumes and report any areas of concern to the Logistics Manager.
- Maintain accurate records of stock and inventory, assess warehouse transfers and report discrepancies to Finance.
- Generate sales orders and prioritise tasks for the Logistics team. Ensuring timely completion of all administration and document requirements, assisting with periodic stocktakes and performing other duties as assigned.
Experience and requirements
- Experience in leading teams and managing logistics operations.
- Background in procurement and inventory management preferred.
- Adaptability to new work practices, systems and procedures.
- Ability to deliver administrative and reporting functions effectively.
- Decision-making capability, and strong problem solving skills.
- Self-motivated, passionate, and driven to achieve operational excellence.
