About the role
Tunstall is seeking a full-time, organised and customer-focused Collections Officer to take ownership of our accounts receivable collections function. The Collections Officer will manage the end-to-end collections process across a high-volume debtor ledger, proactively following up overdue accounts and working closely with customers to achieve timely resolution. You'll investigate non-payment issues, negotiate payment plans where required and collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end collections process across the full debtor ledger, proactively following up on overdue accounts
Maintain structured collection cycles and accurate ERP records
Contact customers professionally and empathetically to resolve outstanding balances
Investigate non-payment issues, resolve billing discrepancies, and negotiate payment plans
Escalate complex matters with clear documentation and recommendations
Monitor the aged trial balance and support account setup and closure processes
Liaise with Sales and Customer Service to resolve disputes efficiently
Prepare aged debtor reports, track KPIs, and identify process improvements
Deliver high-quality customer service while maintaining confidentiality and compliance
What you'll bring
Experience in debt collection, accounts receivable or credit management
Ability to manage and prioritise a large ledger
Confident, empathetic communication style
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
ERP/financial system experience and solid Excel skills
Understanding of ACCC debt collection and privacy guidelines
